Excellent book for presenting not just objects with color but the feelings colors give us.

I have never heard of this Laura Logan, but she is an awesome illustrator. Her artwork is very fresh and affectionate. I would love to see more of her artwork in children's books.

I just got this book and it's great! It's loaded with adorable full-color photos and packed with loads of information about Raggedy Ann & Andy! Great for collectors! The reader is aware of the author's love for Raggedy Ann & Raggedy Andy through the fun-loving tone and the overall appreciation for the dolls.

My 2 year old loves this book. It is both cute & funny. The book has great pictures & a cute storyline. Everyone can enjoy reading this with their young children. One of the best BBB books we've read yet.

I had the pleasure of meeting John Darcy Noble in 1999, and we've quickly become kindred spirits in the world of dolls. You can imagine my pleasure when he announced the publication of Rare and Lovely Dolls of Two Centuries! Told only as John Darcy Noble can, the book takes you on a magical tour of history. Not only do you learn about the rare value of dolls in our history, but John tells of meeting these dolls in such a way that the reader is drawn into the life of each. For anyone interested in how dolls play a part in the history of mankind, for anyone who enjoys being drawn into different worlds, for anyone who would love to meet the author, I recommend Rare and Lovely Dolls of Two Centuries. It's a rare and lovely book.

This book is fantastic! I have used it for students in grades 3-6 for several years. It is extremely challenging for grade 3 students, but great for those needing enrichment. It is better suited for the target group - grades 4 - 6. The students enjoyed the stories and the activities which followed. It definitely improved their reading skills. The stories are quite interesting.

Read and Understand Fiction: Grades 4 -6 is a great book for teachers to use as an enrichment tool for third graders, and for fourth through sixth graders. I have used this book for years, and the students love the stories and follow-up activities. It has improved their comprehension skills, and increased their vocabularies. In addition, there are open-ended questions for the students to answer. Please be aware that some of the editorial info for this book is incorrect. The titles listed at amazon.com are the wrong titles!!! That being said, the book is well worth the price!

As a former high school teacher turned stay-at-home mom, I love this book. I purchased this to help my son practice his reading and question-answering skills. It's great. He is interested in many of the stories--koalas, alligators and crocodiles, and vampire bats--to name a few. There are at least 5 pages of vocabulary, phonics and short essay type answers required after each story. We generally complete one story each day, after his other homework is finished and corrected. He has even started asking to complete extra pages each day. What a change! I am going to order the next books in the series to keep our progress up over the summer.
