A Great Board Book

We got this for my 6 1/2 mos old and he absolutely loves it. I agree 100% with the other reviewer. He loves feeling the different textures on each page and almost seems to anticipate whats going to be on the next page. It's not a tiny board book (like many others) and it has large, colorful pictures which keep his attention. The pages are thick, too, so it should last through the teething stage! I only wish it had 1 or 2 more pages to it ...

My 7 month old loves this book! It's great because he's at the age now where reading to him is hard because he wants to chew on the pages. The pages of this book are much thicker than the average board book, so it's practically indestructible. Plus, each page has lots of different textures that he loves to feel and it actually holds his attention. With other books, he gets bored and looks away. He actually gets excited when mommy says "let's read about the puppies".

I teach 2nd grade, and I have less talent for art than a goldfish.

None the less, I've been able to help my students create some knockout work, using the ideas, pictures, and instructions in this book.

Highly reccomended!

After spending thousands of dollars on homeschool materials, I think it's funny that a $15 book should be my favorite! This book is awesome. The BEST part is that is in color on glossy paper!!! Now we can actually see what we are supposed to be doing. I'm only buying color, glossy art books from now on.

We, 7, 9 and 39, created every project in this book and we were all pleased with our results. Basic paint supplies are needed, and I'd recommend good quality papers. The drawing is kept to a minumum so even the littlest can do it. I mounted all the projects on black construction paper and turned our hallway into a gallery. I'm keeping this book and doing it all over again in a few years, so we can see our progress.

This was an interesting book for the VW enthuiast. It showed some VW toys that I forgot existed, and which I found shortly after. Naturally, there is no way to put true value on these type of toys, but the numbers are a good basis for negotiations. All-in-all, a good book for the price.

Looking over the comprehension books, I felt the reading passages were grade level appropriate. Sometimes it will be listed as 2nd or 1st and be too difficult or easy. These would have pleased Goldilocks.

great idea to involve parents and improve reading skills

This has been a great resource to me as a First Grade Teacher. The book is mostly ready to copy printables. Each week, you make photocopies for the students of the two pages of homework. One page is a short story with illustrations, and the other page has questions or a quick activity, along with a note to parents. I have found these to be very helpful in building comprehension and fluency skills. I also think that it has been good for the parents of my students because they have more direction, as far as what they can do to help their child read. Each assignment focuses on a different skill (cause and effect, punctuation, sequence of events, etc.), and the parent note really helps to inform and guide parents through the homework as they help their child. I also like that the homework is due at the end of the week, so parents can pick which night is more convenient to help their child with the homework.
Overall I am very pleased with this resource.

A variety of topics logically connected under the banner of spirituality.

This supplement for the Werewolf: The Forsaken game introduces additional information on Auspices, Tribal initiation rituals, Gifts, Spirits, Fetishes, and Rites. It's a grab bag of goodies and most certainly has something for everyone.

The production values are high quality, and mirror those of the Werewolf: The Forsaken core book. The very evocative art is excellent, and the paper stock is high quality.

The new abilities, largely Gifts, introduced in the book are very interesting and seem to be more generally useful than those presented in the core book. The 50 Fetishes included in the book are very helpful, both because they provide a better idea of what a Fetish is supposed to look like mechanically but also because they're ready to go.

The best part of the book by far is its handling of Auspices and Tribal initiation. Auspices discusses what it really means to be a given Auspice, provides some excellent Gifts that work to create some niche protection, and throws out a variety of interesting ideas for future stories. The Tribal initiation sections are very well crafted. Storytellers interested in beginning a Mortals or Ghost Wolf game and advancing it into a Forsaken game will find this section indespensible.

If you're looking for an excellent general expansion of the material found in the core book then this is the product for you.

This book offers additional rules for Werewolf the forsaken game. It offers an explanation of animism, one of the main elements in the new Werewolf game and how it adds scope and depth to a true horror game.

Chapter one offers an exploration of what is the Change, how it affects a human and what it means to undergo a transformation into a werewolf. It also offers an explanation into the motivations of the Uratha and the ways of the werewolf.

Chapter two is all about the gifts of Luna and auspices, the phases of the moon that grant werewolves their powers and gifts. What is an auspice and what is the practical application of an auspice? These are answered and developed in order to give your character all the necessary information on gifts, powers and auspices.

Chapter three is about spirit magic and the powers of the werewolf-gifts. How do spirits teach, guide and offer their secrets? How do you get spirits to do your bidding and serve you? What is a rite and how does your character go about fullfilling one? Story hooks involving these questions are also found here.

Finally chapter four develops and gives more in depth information on the world the Uratha live in, their viewpoints and perspectives and how they make their place therein.

I highly recommend this book as a fine addition to any werewolf game or chronicle you run or play in. It contains a wealth of information to flesh out any character or campaign. Great artwork and very concise layout!

My children adore this book. They love to read this book turning the pages and seeing the other children popping up through-out the book. When the bear is finally found on the last page, my children scream and jump up and down with mommy and daddy. This book will be a treasure in our family and will be shared with the grandchildren. Thank you to the author.

Something for everyone in 'Wood on Wheels'

This book focuses on toys--large and small--with wheels or built on a wheeled platform. I'm not going to comment on the quality of the plans and instructions (I'm not a woodworker), but the following are some of the projects found in 'Wood on Wheels.'

Push & Pull Toys: articulated Rabbit pull-toy on a wheeled platform, three-wheeled Roller Boy, Flounder pull-toy with off-centered wheels, Alligator on a log pull-toy, Turtle (and) Dove pull-toy, primitive-style Twig Dragon, Bob's Sled (a darling design of a child on a sled), spring-mounted Bed Bug on a bed pull-toy, Puzzle Truck, and a cute Platypus push-toy.

Large Rolling & Riding Toys: Minicyle ride-on toy, Push Goat ride-on, Trundle Block Wagon, Rattle Mower, Tug Boat on wheels, Barge to connect to Tug Boat, Hoopytoad Rocker (mini see-saw), Little Red Wagon, Shopping Cart, Classic Hobbyhorse with wheeled end), Luge, Scooter on casters, Fun Roller on casters, and a child-size Garden Cart.

Specialty Vehicles, Displays and Gear: Western Pony (a rocking-horse to display), Prizewinner (a 'carved' sheep made with a rasp on a wheeled platform--adaptable to any animal), Rope Walker balance toy, Gas Pump, Oilcan, Squeegee, Road Signs, Bike Rack, and a couple of small push-type toys.

With the exception of a few special 'display' toys, the majority of these are intended for younger children--probably under 8, but the designs are so lovely that in the hands of a good woodworker, these toys will be appreciated 'on the shelf' long after they are outgrown, and probably passed along to the next generation as well.

As a tutor I have used this book and this series for over 10 years with ESL and other students from 5th grade through high school. The short, easy lessons provide a great introduction to these important parts of language. They do not require much "homework" time to do, so students willingly do one a week. I recommend this series for tutors and teachers.

Great teaching aid.

Reviews 30 prefixes. Each prefix is given two pages. A list of example words with the prefix and a picture to go with one of the words (i.e. antibiotic and a picture of a pill bottle with pills around it). Great for visual learners. The 2nd page is a review of the words and some fill in the blank. Two sister books about more prefixes and roots are Word Strength and Word Wisel.

This is a great book for the seasoned artist as well as the beginning collector. The photography is great and the text is very readable. It's a pleasure to carry with and read while traveling, as well as to study the photographs for ideas. I enjoyed reading about the artists, especially the ones I already knew; and learning about the ones I was'nt familar with. The photography was a pleasure, as well as the the text. I would recommend this book to anyone intested in teddy bears and artists!

Stephen Cronk, former editor of Teddy Bear Review, has compiled a collection of more than 100 wonderful photographs of beautiful furry teddy bears created by many of today's leading teddy bear artists. The format reveals techniques and inspirations behind the photographed bear as well as some history on the featured contemporary artists. The teddy bear lover cannot resist the lovable images created to reveal the spirit of this collectible art form.

I loved the organization and format of this publication. I also enjoyed the 6-page historical perspective Steve offered spanning the history of the teddy bear from 1902 through the development of domestic and foreign shows, collector clubs, and charital organizations formed to distribute teddy bears to those in need of comfort.

You will be able to easily locate some of the best known teddy bear artists today. Their addresses are also featured in this book.

This book is a must for collectors and fellow teddy bear artists. You will love this book as much as I did.
