Toys and Games Books

This book was delivered promptly and in excellent condition! I am very pleased to find it.

I use The Daily Oral Language 180 lessons to provide my Second Language Learners with extra support. The book begins with simple activities and move on with difficult activities. The Daily Oral Language introduces the students with the skills they need to acquire to become more knowledgeable with the English Language structures.

We love the plan book and it is very functional but part of my order was shipped first and then when the rest was shipped it was lost. I had to scramble to find the plan book elsewhere.

I have been teaching preschool for many years and used many plan books. This one is by far my favorite. I found it at Lakeshore last year but when I went back to buy it again it wasn't there. However, Amazon had it!
This book has some great features including large pages, a calendar, sub. pages, daily schedule, student information, and much more. It is so complete you can't help but be organized!
A must buy for any preschool teacher.

The book begins with a day-by-day list of all the celebrations throughout the month (not only the famous ones but others as well...do you know when chewing gum was first patented?), and then a reproducible calendar for the classroom with clip art of symbols to place on the calendar.

You have to have these books, they are great for all ago groups and so helpful!!!

I was given this book by a friend and didn't know what to expect... but all sorts of happy memories fooded back as I flipped through the pages. Ragan clearly loves his subject, but he's a added a quirky tone that makes this fun not just for collectors but also for people like me who just remember playing with some of these toys. It's also worth noting that the photographs are fantastic.

It'll Christmas gift list for sure.

What a great time I had with this book! Every page, and every photo, brought back memories of these cars. It's a really nicely produced volume (I already bought a copy for a friend who's rich enough to collect real cars!) and if you leave it out on a coffee table, say, everybody reaches for it and, as they leaf through it, they invariably start to smile. Now I'm just sorry I gave away (or maybe my parents did) all my own toys from the 60s!

This is a must for collectors. Makes a great gift Pictures are organized and high quality.

I found this book an excellent referance. The information contained was clear and concise With regards to Dinky toys, the book also has both numbering systems which I found to be a great help. All in all a great book of referance at a very reasonable price.A must have for the avid collector.

I saw SUE in Chicago last week. In this book I learned that SUE was named after Susan who found the fossils. Susan had a dog named Gypsy. They kept on digging up duck-billed dinosaurs. Sue's boned weighed 4 tons!! The Field Museum bought it for over eight million dollars! SUE is a T.rex. I think that SUE did fight with other dinosaurs. SUE is 67 million years old! I was happy to see SUE in Chicago and to read this book!

Dinosaurs are a hot topic right now...and A Dinosaur Named Sue: The Find of the Century really teaches young kids about the job of a paleontologist--in a positive light. SUE, the most complete T. rex fossil ever found, is an amazing discovery, both educationally AND on basis of interest, and children should definitely read all they can about this dinosaur. This book approaches SUE on the level of a 3rd grader, yet the language and subject matter are intelligient enough for a parent to find interesting--maybe even to learn from! I definitely did!

This was my son's favorite toy for about the first year of his life. It was a wonderful book for him to look at in the car and in the stroller while I was shopping. There are vibrant colors, flaps, a chick that comes out of its egg (but remains attached so it won't get lost), different textures, and a crinkly page too. I often buy this now as a baby shower gift because I think we got more use out of this than anything else. My son is now 3 but I can't bring myself to get rid our copy.

My 4 month-old daughter absolutely loves this book. The color contrasts are great as are the interactive components.

I consider this book a three dimensional scrapbook of life from the late 1950s to the present as seen through pop culture, fashion, music, entertainment and of course, fashion dolls. While Barbie doll was the undisputed "Queen of the Prom" other dolls portrayed a lifestyle that will never be forgotten. Relive the past or greet it for the first time! Enjoy! A. Glenn Mandeville

Glen's knowledge of Barbie and other fashion dolls is superb! This book includes otherwise rare information on all the non-Barbie fashion dolls as well, such as Kenner's Darci, Hasbro's Jem, Creata Lace, the Littlechap family, Tressy, and many more.

This book is priceless if you are interested in more than just Barbie . . . and his Barbie information is also great. This book has it all!

This book presents a charming look at some important historical dollhouses in the Rockefeller Folk Art Center. Good pictures and texts. Not useful if you are looking for realistic projects for your own dollhouse crafting hobby, but for the historian, this is a wonderful look at historical dolls, dollhouses, and furnishings that were used over generations as toys and learning devices for girls. For extravagant historical dollhouse rooms created by and for an adult collector (that you would perhaps want to emulate in your own hobby), see another book, Miniature Rooms, about the Thorne Rooms at the Art Institute of Chicago.

I consider this book to be one of the best dollhouse references out there. Every page has color photos. Many of the furniture pieces are photographed individually. Each photograph is clear and detailed. The author is careful to note when a piece is original, antique, or modern. Everything in this book is well-researched and documented. You could carve replica furniture pieces from the photographs in here, they are that good!

Needless to say, the houses featured in here are gorgeous in their own right. My favorite part of this book are the great photos of the Grodnertal peg-wooden dolls. This book contains some of the best Grodnertal photos I've ever seen!

I bought this book for my 7 year old daughter so we could get some easy doll projects that we can make together. I am horrible at sewing and I am not "crafty" so this book is just my speed. It is written in simple language and has pictures to follow each step of the pattern easily.

My daughter and I are going to make "Little Guy" first. He only takes an hour to do and it is so simple using a pair of stretchy one-size-fits-all gloves, thread, glue and hair for its head. So simple. I can't wait to get started. It lists all the necesary items and optional choices to personalize your doll.

Patterns range from easy to more detailed sewing with a machine, but are simple enough for a child (around 8 and up) to do supervised by an adult.

A great craft book worthy of 5 stars.

Bought this book for my 12 and 10 yrs old kids and Now I want to keep it myself. Many different doll projects that are easy to make and all materials can be found at home. directions are easy to follow and many dolls can be made without the aid of mom
