I purchased this book to use for homeschooling with my 6 and 5 year old. I have been very impressed with the layout and how easy it is for my kids to do the problem. This allows my kids to learn their math at their own pace. I hope to use further grade levels in the future.

Great math practice!

I really like this book because of the way it is organized. Also, it is aligned with the state standards. It is a great supplement to the adopted curriculum that I use.

This is a great supplement to any math program. My students enjoy the activities, and I find the page format to be good. There are generally several pages to address each skill, and the book comes with a section of addition and multiplication timed tests which I have had great success in using (believe it or not, my students are very motivated by them!)

Easy lessons to follow with good illustrations. Like the language arts link with every lesson. I found it can be used for home schooling as well as classroom. Very easy to adapt lessons for grades 3-5.
I thought "how to use the book section" was very helpful.

For the advanced collector, there has been a shortage of information on Bing Bears in regards to identification, charm and market value until Ken Yenke wrote and complied wonderful photos of Bing Bears in this comprehensive book. As always, I am impressed and learn more than I had hoped when selecting one of Ken's books to add to my Teddy Bear Book reference library. A wonderful book for all who seek more knowledge about our loved...Teddy Bears.

We, collectors have waited a long time for someone to write a comprehensive book on the wonderful world of Bing Bears & Toys. Ken Yenke has developed a book designed to educated the reader on the history of Bing, as well as, give remarkable early sketches and photos of Bings that most collectors never get an opportunity to actually see. I was quite impressed with the energy and apparent love that Ken Yenke has demonstrated throughout the book. The descriptions are concise yet informative; and the price guidelines help the novice collector and the advanced collector gauge their buying and selling scales. I looked forward to reading this book from the earliest whispers of its development and have not been disappointed in any way. I hope Ken Yenke continues to write books that are educational to collectors and also beautiful to the eye.

This book is much more than a report of a company's products. It is an honest and direct account of what happened to a creative and productive enterprise under Hitler's oppression, and after that it is a beautiful description of the many fantastic items the company developed. Ken Yenke has made a fine contribution to the history of the German toy industry by describing the happenings that led to the demise of the Bing company. The pictures are terrific, and the dialogue is strong and exciting. You'll want to read every word and study every picture. I strongly recommend this book to all toy collectors.

My son is two and loves this book. He does not always follow the correct order but, he likes to guess what is under the flaps. He very gentle on books so the flaps have not yet fallen off. I could see how the could be eaily torn though. Great book for toddler and preschool children.

A great book for learning ABC!

My daughter is 3 and she is a big fan of Blue's Clues, and she loves this book! It is great for learning the alphabet. Each page has a few letters, each letter is a flap, and under each flap is a picture that begins with the letter. The picture can also be found somewhere else on the page, which makes it a fun game. We have only had the book about two weeks and she already has is memorized. The flaps and not so sturdy and they bend easy if you aren't careful (but what flaps are?), but the book is defenetly worth its value!

We Ty plush collectors have been waiting for this book. This guide contains pictures and information on Ty plush that I had never ever heard of! The pictures are very well done, very clear. It also has information on Attics and Beanies, but it's the plush section that really makes it unique.

Jean Feldman gives many great ideas for all curriculum areas in this handbook. There are interesting activities for math, language, science and art centers along with easy group games with emphasis on having fun rather than competition. This book even contains fun recipes children can prepare with little help and ideas for special celebrations. These ideas are divided into convenient categories which makes finding the "right" activity a breeze. This is a must-have handbook for early childhood educators!

Emerald City is very detailed. This is for adults or older children. All is beautifully printed & on heavy stock. Needs to be cut out & assembled. Fairly easy to put together. Theater can be a very creative outlet & setup can be simple or elaborate. This is an adult substitute for the dollhouse you never had as a child. Would love to have script or outline for the theater. Shipped promptly & packaged safely.

I've bought, cut and assembled the Emerald City twice in my life, once when I was 8 and once when I was 12. Each time, I enjoyed the time I speant with some of my favorite characters from my favorite series of books. I even wrote to Dick Martin to tell me how to get more characters to play with, and he was most congenial. The late Dick Martin was a wonderful illustrator with an astute eye for children's fantasy, and this book shows it. If you are a fan of Oz, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I am so glad that we found this book! Five problems a night makes math FUN, rather than WORK for my child. So much so that he will do a few days worth of problems in one sitting.

The book has variety to keep him interested, and he's learning new skills from it also. I will definitely buy the grade 2 book for next year.

I'm a firm believer of practice early on math. It will build kid's interest and confidence for the long run. This book is invaluable. It breaks grade 1 math into small pieces and let your child do a little every day. My son learned a lot from this book. He often asks further questions and thinks a lot more. This book helped him do well in math. In the Beestar online math contest (...), he often wins honor mentions. Highly recommend.

I used this book for after-school review with my 6-year-old son. The format (5 problems per day, including 1 word problem) worked great. Used on a daily basis, it provides just enough repetition to do the trick.

You get a total of 180 sets of problems, broken down into 36 weeks. Each set takes up 1/2 of one side of a page. The book provides lots of variety in its problem sets. All in all, this book delivers what it promises, and then some.

Highly recommended.

I bought this book to match the clothes that I buy at garage sales and auctions to the dolls that I own and to make sure that any dolls I'm considering are dressed in their original clothes, and I was not dissapointed. With over 500 color pictures and pictures of whole catalogue pages I have found this book to be the best in my library.Value guides are given in the description paragraph not forcing the reader to turn to a back page and search for a corresponding plate number, which I personally find annoying.I would highly recommend this book to any collector of 50' dolls.

This is a great book with excellent and little or not cost games and toys for cats. I have tried 4 games already and I just recieved the book. Pita Puss had a great time! and I did too. He really enjoyed the shoe box ride and he already plays in water so the bobbing for vegi's was a big hit. If you have a cat this is a must for you. Know anyone with a cat they will really enjoy this book as a gift. The illustrations are great and the writing is witty and fun to read. Try it you will like it!
