Advanced Water Distribution Modeling and Management is not only a complete and current reference for professionals involved in water distribution systems but also an essential textbook for undergraduate and graduate courses. In fact, what makes this book different is that it contains from basic hydraulic concepts up to the most recent researches and experiences in a comprehensive language.

The Best "How To" Book on Modeling

This reference has given us an edge in satisfying client needs from the simplest capacity study to the most complex model. It has helped make our competent modelers more efficient and the up-and coming modeler function like a pro. Many common questions and problems are anticipated and clearly answered. Because the book so thoroughly covers system management issues, I believe many parts should be required reading for water resources engineers.

I wish I knew of this book's existence years ago. For too many years, I have been using several other reference books to "answer" my never ending questions and doubts on modeling and related subjects.

It even has reference on non-concontinuous flow condition. A great book with lots of "weight." The price was right, too, I received this gem free as a bonus for signing up to attend a wwebcast sponsored by Haestad.

I purchased 3. I kept one for myself and gave the other to to family. They loved it.

They arrived very quickly.

Coins fit perfectly without falling out as they did in the other album I used to have.

It has a wonderful layout, the only thing Im not so pleased with is the size of the album as it is a bit too big for my liking.

I highly recommend it.

Bought this for my daughter who wanted to share a hobby with her grandma. Very informative and colorful. There is a real U.S. map inside. Quarters are placed in a hole right on the state that they are from. Fun facts and educational information about each state. Great pictures of the different quarters. Helped my daughter learn her states and other valuable geography lessons. She even presented it to her brownie troop to earn a badge.

Great Quarter Map!

This state quarter map is everything I hoped it would be. It is a great way to display your quarters! I bought it for my 8 year old son and he has had a great time with it. The quarters snap in so easily and the state facts are an added bonus. Love this product.

I am an experienced marine aquarium hobbyist of some 10 years. I found this book to be fantastic. I have learned many new tricks. The author is also big into conservation and gives tips on how to avoid endangered or improperly gathered animals. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I usually don't comment on things, but this is one of the better books geared towards beginning hobbiests. On the whole, well written and easy to follow, a must read if you plan on starting a marine aquarium. I've been involed with the hobby for the better part of my life and still took may things way from it.

Excellent book for someone new to Saltwater. Gives excellent detail on how to start a saltwater aquarium and maintain it. Better than other books. This book actually spells out the levels the PH, Nitrate, Nitrites and Ammonia should be and how to maintain them in addition to other important aspects of a saltwater aquarium. I highly recommend this book to those new to the hobby.

A good reference but not a how-to.

I enjoyed this book and it is beautifully put together. However, it lacked a lot of detail when it came down to building the system. Yes - there were a lot of detailed diagrams but that was for one rudimentary system and for the plumbing only. It didn't really discuss alot when it came to chioces of fish communities, light systems, setups, etc. What it does do it offer a lot of information but you will have to do quite a bit more research to make an informed choice. I highly suggest getting Palletta's "New Marine Aquarium" book first, this one second.

My wife and I were given a marine aquarium that had been neglected for some time and decided to revitalize it. This book has gotten us off to a great start! There's a lot to learn, but Paletta gives it to you straight - what to expect, what to stock and how to maintain a successful aquarium. We didn't start completely from scratch, but I wouldn't dissuade anyone from starting a saltwater tank as long as they have this book in hand.

All you really need to know

This is a simple, easy to understand book that will give you all you really need to know to succeed with saltwater. Most other books of this type do more to confuse you than help because they give you too many choices and leave you at the whim of your local fishstore. I really like the fact the author gives you a number of different options for setup including the critical choices of what fish / inverts to use and a simple rating system for aquarium suitability. However - it's not oversimplified and you will find a lot of interesting and complex topics are covered. Buy this book first, and as you develop the hobby you can go from there.

I absolutely LOVED this book when I had my saltwater tank. It was invaluable for selecting the right fish for my set up. (Great detail on behavior, aggressiveness, space needs, whether or not compatible with coral, feeding needs, etc.) And the pictures can NOT be beat! Now that I am doing freshwater, I am trying frantically to find a book that was even half as useful and I am somewhat hard pressed. This book is a must have in my opinion.

I love this book. It really does cover the step by step, beginning to end. You can basically get everything you need from this book. There are a few areas (i.e., more pics or more detailed terminology) that you might need along the way. I did want a little more info about machine quilting. So, I just purchased one more book "The Quilters VIsual Guide..." to use as a second reference. I paid $7 for a used book...including shipping. It was "brand new" when I got it. So, if you don't want to pony up the money for it....get it used.

This book will provide the info you need to actually get started.

Stephanie has amazing wit! You'll love this book - it's a must, must read for anyone who loves to knit, read and laugh!!

This author never ceases to enthrall me with her true life experiences as a knitter.
If you knit (at all) you will 'see yourself' in her observations too.
The only problem is I can't read the book. laugh and knit at the same time.
However all knitters should rest their hands periodically, and reading this book
and sipping a cup of coffee is my prescription for rest!

This journal was a gift for my daughter who is getting married in September, 2010. I wanted something non-traditional to help keep her organized and to jot down little memories that she will be able to go back to throughout her life.

This was the perfect journal for her. She is thrilled with it. It is absolutely beautiful, excellent quality and the cost was about half what it would have been in a retail store.

I will definitely order from this company again!

I bought three of these for my niece for Christmas. She is a Lit Major and is an amazing writer. She loved them. I think that the money that you pay for them is incredible for the quality of these journals. No they are not real leather but they are beautiful despite the fact. I will but her more soon.

I updated from the 2nd edition I bought years ago. I'm glad to see the focus on value-based pricing. I was a little disappointed that it gets a bit repetitive on calculating price changes and it would be useful to see more examples on calculating the initial price when you really don't have much data to go on.

This is the first computer book I actually said down and read, cover to cover. It holds your interest, and each tip gets you excited for the one to follow. I call it my AHA book. All the time you read it, you go "Aha! That's the problem!" or "Aha! That's how to get rid of that!". Can't recommend it highly enough.

Review Date: 2004-07-14
I've read many computer books, and I have to say this is one of the most informative. More important, Steve provides hundreds of tips to overcome the small (and large) problems of Windows. It's nice to konw that even a well-known computer columnist experiences the same frustrations we ordinary users do. Happily, he willing to share the solutions he's found.

In my first reading, I discovered the answers to at least 7 windows annoyances I've encountered.

And instead of including a cost-raising CD, the publisher has made 100 utility programs available online, a better solution that including them on a quickly outdated disk.

A useful, and often amusing book.

You need it!
