Just received "Loose Change" in the mail and I had to sit down to look at every page. I have to say that this is the first book I've gotten where I just want to start at the beginning and make every quilt in the book! I'm lovin' it!! Great job Claudia and Le Ann!!

If you are looking for something a little different, you've found your book! From the full-sized patterns to the subject matter, this book fills a niche that the usual applique books don't. The eight projects, ranging from size 17"x24" to 35"x49", include two unique angels, a jester fishing from a moon, a terrific Santa, Jack Frost, Uncle Sam featured in A Star-Spangled Salute, a charming Fairy Garden, and a rakish Fred A. Scarecrow, all in full-color. Though I would not consider this an instruction manual, and the patterns are probably not for beginners, there is good basic instruction included. Just a delightful book!

Any newcomer to machine applique who wishes to get started quickly will find extensive discussion of techniques, tools, stitches and shapes in LOVE TO MACHINE APPLIQUE: A MEDLEY OF TECHNIQUES. From using 3-D applique and working with bias strips to reverse applique, this book offers all the tools needed to make the LOVE AFFAIR quilt and master skills needed in nine sample projects with beginners in mind.

Fantastic book. If you are just starting, or need an update on machine quilting this is the book to own! Well explained and lots of diagrams and photos. A must have book!

This is the first quilting book i bought. I've heard for years that quilting was hard and a lot of work and exacting and all that stuff. Well I decided to do something about my fabric addiction and decided once and for all I'd make a quilt. I thought the log cabin looked masculine so I bought Eleanor's book. The book describes Eleanors QUICK quilting technique and I must say it is! I don't know that this is called SPEED quilting, but it seems to be! All I had to do was make strips, sew, cut, sew, cut, sew, cut, ... I have 16 beautiful squares that I am trying to figure out what to do with now. :-) If you want to learn piecing, this is a great book to start from. If you want speed techniques, this is also a great book! I'm very pleased with my purchase.
