This is an ideal book for a novice quilter. The instructions are clear, easy to follow and detailed. It contains great color
illustrations and pictures. The chapter on "Basic Information" provides information on selecting supplies, care and storage
of quilts, measurements, etc. I have already started one of the many quilts I'll make from this book.

I enjoyed reading this book and am now making one of the quilts. The instructions are good, the illustrations are colorful,
and the quilts are neat! This book isn't just for beginners. Advanced quilters would find it just as fun. The four quilts
are: At The Seashore (a scene with ocean, fish, boats, shells), Peaceful Night (a scene of houses on a street), Checkerboard
Floral (a design of blocks with roses, starflowers and tulips), and Through the Seasons (a design of blocks with snowflakes,
flowers, pinwheels, suns and leaves). Each one will be like a masterpiece and you'll have fun doing them!

First-time quilters often have difficulty moving through the realm of complex designs, patterns, and instructions to find
the super-simple. For those who want easy projects, you could do no better than Let's Quilt! Easy Projects For First-time
Quilters. Author Kisro began designing quilts at the age of 18: now 21, she provides quilts for her age group or any just
beginning. Projects suitable for quilting bees, retreats or mother/daughter projects are presented, from lap quilts and pillowcases
to a table runner. An excellent newcomer's guide indeed.

All Five Services Represented

This book has my attention in several ways. First, it is spiral bound. You will not have to "fight" to keep the book open
to the page you are working with. Why all quilt books are not bound this way is beyond my understanding.
The second thing that caught my attention is in the type of quilts in the book. Usually when the services are mentioned, you know, Army, Navy Air Force and Marines, it stops there. Usually the Coast Guard is never mentioned. BUT this book has included a quilt for the Coast Guard as well as the normal four services.
The final thing that held my attention is the patterns are on a separate perforated section in the back of the book. No need to enlarge, they are full sized.
The patterns are unique. I have never seen a quilt made by weaving an appliqué through another pattern piece. This gives the quilts the look of seeing through the flag. The instructions for the patterns contain the size and a color photo of the finished item, along with cutting and yardage requirements. Lots and lots of graphics are combined with detailed, easy to follow instructions. The weaving instructions are understandable and the border instructions are located at the end of the book for each item.
A 3-page spread contains all the information you need to create a label for this one-of-a-kind quilt. It is something that you will definitely want to add to a quilt that you put this much time and effort into so future generations will know the history of the item.

I had this book a few years ago and loved it. It was easy to read as a new quilter. The quilts are a great size to put on
your lap for a cold evening or over a coach, or to give to a child.

This has some lovely patterns for making quilts for dolls and dollhouses or other miniature uses. (The only book I know about
on the topic, actually.) It gives instructions for cutting the fabics and sewing them together as well as the patterns themselves,
so is good for both beginner and someone more experienced. There are over a dozen quilting patterns and some other projects
as well, such as name tags, eyeglass case, needle case, checkbook cover, pincushions, etc., and the instructions are very
clear.

I hadn't done much quilting, so Ms. Libal's book was a great A - Z lesson for me! Not only did her book introduce me to 26
different patterns, but Ms. Libal's great sense of color and beautiful fabric choices really encouraged me to be bold and
have fun with my quilting!
