Quilting Books

Mary Ellen Hopkins takes the strain out of making a Double Wedding Ring quilt. Using her techniques, the time it would normally take to make this favorite pattern is pared down to a minimum. There is virtually no waste of fabric using her methods. As a former quilting instructor, I used this book and know that it is well-written and clearly illustrated. Highly recommended for beginner or experienced quilters.

I'm new to quilting, but am already growing restless with just creating quilts with established block patterns. I read about this book in one of the quilting magazines I get (it was mentioned in an article) and while it doesn't seem to be available as a "new" book directly from Amazon, I did find several used book sellars that had copies. I haven't been able to clear my head of all the ideas that I have now! Don't let the title intimadate you! There is no complicated math involved in altering block designs to make them "you". Some graph paper and a ruler and your imagination and you're off and running. You'll be amazed at how different you can make an old block design look with just moving a few lines. Be adventurous! Get this book and have some fun!

I am a quilter and became interested in dyeing and wanted to do this in an easy way, no mess and can be done at home. Our guild recently purchased this book and it is GREAT. Definitely no mess or fuss. Well written and easy to follow with comedy and tips it that are very helpful. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to try dyeing fabric.

I am very impressed with the layout of this book. The illustrations are beautiful! The instructions are easy to understand. There is so much variety that one can certainly find many different crafts to try. I checked this book out from the library but cannot wait until I can purchase my own copy to be a part of my own library of craft books!

This is an excellent book with lots of easy to do projects, good pictures and instructions. Would recommend it to anyone.
