If you can fold and cut a snowflake, then you can make quilts from this book, with the great photographs showing how to do each step. The section on applique gives good instructions for several different techniques. Good for any level of quilter.

Excellent book with clear instructions. I am a self-taught quilter, and found this book to be extremely helpful and straight-forward. The author walks you through several different hand and machine applique procedures. I am working on the "calandar" quilt, and am enjoying every minute of it!

This is a great book if you are interested in learning different applique techniques. I think that it is clearly written and easy to understand. The patterns are full size and easy to use for many of the applique pieces. There are many different styles and patterns to choose from. A great "basics" book.

I'd tried applique for the first time using Ami Simms's Invisible Applique, and although that wasn't entirely an unsuccessful attempt, I put down applique as something that was just not for me--it was hard and my first few tries were messy. But Sinema's Applique Applique Applique was amazing--I bought it and the light turned on. My first attempt after reading her book was an amazing success--perfect! Her descriptions and patterns are fantastic, and she fully explains decorative stitches as well as the applique stitch with careful diagrams. And the inclusion of many different types of applique, as well as many types of projects--was exactly what I needed. This is the ULTIMATE applique book!

I bought this book so my kids could give me something nice for Christmas. The idea was ot put it away and not read it. No chance of that! I thought, "I'll just read the first few lines... Well, just this page... Just the first chapter??!!"
I couldn't put it down.

Quilting is often done as a group and community effort, so what better way to celebrate than through stories and tales as in AROUND THE QUILT FRAME: STORIES AND MUSINGS ON THE QUILTER'S CRAFT, which brings together well-known quilters whose stories of quilting and life make for an inspiring read. Essays and stories revolving around quilts and quilting and range from the philosophical to the practical. Especially recommended as a gift pick for that quilter who 'as everything'.

This is a well written and informative book full of colorful examples. I was primarily interested in learning Bargello design techniques. That chapter was very good. The tip on using adhesive backed foot pads to make straight seams really works! I also particularly liked the chapter on wearable quilt art.

In addition to the mechanics of quilting the author covers quite extensively the artistic elements of quilting. Throughout the book are insets titled "Color Note" which I found helpful in explaining the effects that different color fabrics have on each other.

great book for both beginner and advanced quilters

This book is full of ideas on Attic Window quilts and wall hangings. The authors take the reader through colour and pattern choices, how to do an attic window and finally and great way to do binding. There are many coloured photographs using a variety of different fabrics. Included are the use of panels, using several different fabrics, applique and different size windows within a quilt or wall hanging.
I have used this book many times when doing attic windows and it has inspired me to look at this technique creatively.
If you are an avid quilter, this book is a good one to add to your collection.

Loved the designs in this packet. Expected a book but the packet was great with the blocks all printed out. The designs are simple enough and would be a great quilt made from these blocks. Great addition to my library. Gladys

Piece O'Cake is brilliant. This is so much better than another book because it focuses on the patterns without all of the instructional rehash. There is plenty of piecing and applique instruction included for the quilter who has had any experience at all. Frankly, a beginner probably shouldn't be trying these patterns as it could be quite overwhelming. Thank you for another wonderful design, Piece O'Cake Designs.

Everyone needs a calendar so why not grab one that tells you about the quilts that are featured each month? There is a different quilt for each month of the year.

You get a two to three paragraph blurb about each quilts plus the large view of the quilt on month page it is featured on.

Of course having a calendar with squares for keeping track of your daily routine is always a plus. And with the bright colors of the quilts, your walls will have a splash of color as well.

I doesn't matter how well you piece your quilt, if the borders and binding are poorly done, the beauty of your quilt will suffer.

This book gives you easy to follow, step-by-step instructions for doing borders and bindings that will help make your work an heirloom.

This book is a must for all beginner/intermediate quilters.
