This is a genius of book. Picture his TV Show on Travel Channel with some bite. He goes over many things as he travel the byways of not just travel, But lifes quirks. In all his travel semgments he goes over the eleations, and the pitfalls. Like the hearfelt moment about his guide in Memphis, or the rude treatment he got in a B&B in Boston. The book will help, or hinder your appreciation of tourist traps. For a nice laugh at, or with Cash Peters --- buy the book!

I discovered Cash Peters' Travel Channel show over the summer (where he's dropped off in some strange land--he has no idea where--with no money whatsoever and has to convince locals to feed and shelter him for a day) and was given this book over the weekend as an early birthday present. I am glad to report that Gullible's Travels is even wittier and more fun than his TV show! Peters visits and writes about a number of cities and tourist traps, as well as some of the oddest, most tasteless and inane destinations imaginable. Not only are the locations themselves simply brilliant, but Cash Peters' running commentary on these places would crack up a 1692 Salem Puritan. Sure you can learn a thing or two and maybe get an idea about where to go when you make your own vacation plans, but the real attraction here is Peters' himself and his goofy way of perceving everything. I suppose one could ask for a more serious guide thru these "bad taste" sites but it'd be hard to come up with one who was more bizarre. Peters is a likable bloke and while I'm not sure I'd let him crash in my house should his Travel Channel producers ever drop him off to film an episode in Mason, Ohio, I'd love to hear his comments about my home town. I can only imagine the things he'd say...

I had never heard of Cash Peters before. I was browsing Amazon looking for books that I can't get in the UK and one of them was Gullible's Travels. It sounded like my type of thing so I thought why not? I'm so glad I did. Its one of those books that is so enjoyable I don't want to get to the end.

Bill Bryson is my favourite author and the only one who can make me laugh out loud and I would rate Cash Peters to be as funny and readable as Bill. So, I have a few pages to go but I know this will be a book I will keep re-reading - it is highly entertaining.

In a nutshell: I don't have to buy books because I live in Salt Lake City, which has, arguably, the greatest public library in the country if not the world. So I got "Gullible's Travels" (I think I saw an ad in The New Yorker) and, it's a good thing I have a great library because I can't afford to buy books anyway, but guess what, I'm going to buy this one. Several copies of this one, for gifts. Not even Xmas gifts, just gifts for people who need a good laugh and appreciate real wit. It's that good. I hope a lot of people buy "Gullible's" and I hope Cash Peters laughs all the way to the bank.

In usual Cash Peters style, this book is just what the title of this review says it is: Manic, Zany and TONS of Fun! Cash documents and comments on his journeys and experiences as a travel writer. Hilarious comments and insights by Cash. If you like him on the Travel Channel, you'll LOVE this book. A great laugh and a must read!

My mom bought me this bible for my first communion four years ago. Even though I am 15, I still read it, because I find it easier to understand.

I'd prefer the Today's English Version/Good News Bible over the NIV(New International Version). The text is easy to read but seems fairly accurate when compared with the King James Version too. I have both the Good News and King James versions for use in my Bible devotional time.

Wonderful Bible for Catholic children to grow with! This is a great first full text Bible with footnotes for beginners. Brief introductions with outlines precede each book. The color Precious Moments illustrations call attention to Jesus Love. The Presentation page makes this a great gift with the Record of Sacraments filled out for children to see that their journey has begun.

I was browsing at my local bookstore for a Bible. I wanted a Catholic version with the Deuterocanonicals/Apocrypha and I wanted a Bible that was comfortable to hold, light weight, with a nice comfortable font for easy reading (some Bibles are printed so that you need a magnifying glass, others are so big and heavy you need to take up weightlifting!). This was the only one that fit the bill. I was looking for the NAB version, but am now glad I got this one, which is TEV (Todays English Version). It's a wonderfully fluid translation, not at all stilted like some versions. If you don't mind a pink Bible with cute childrens illustrations, this is a great Bible. It has very nice maps. It comes in a white leatherette version too. Unfortunately, it's not a red-letter edition, and it's not the typical study version with multiple scripture links. But for children that shouldn't matter.

Great price for the quality of this bible. Very child friendly. My daughter loved it!

MY SON HAS THIS BIBLE AND HE LOVES IT. HE REALLY LIKES FOR ME TO READ FROM IT AND HE LOVES TO LOOK AT THE PICTURES. HE ALSO LOVES THIS BIBLE BECAUSE HE WANTS TO BE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE AND THIS BIBLE IS SMALL FOR HIS HANDS BUT MADE LIKE GROWN- UP BIBLES. THE COVER IS HARDBACK SO IT IS EASY TO CLEAN AND KEEP IN GOOD CONDITION. I ALSO LIKE IT BECAUSE IT HAS THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS.

This is the fifth Precious Moment Bible that I have ordered this year and given as Christening gifts to the babies in our family. It is the perfect place to record the religious footpaths in a child's life. The Precious Moments full colored plates are of little children depicting the bible figures and stories. They are a joy for both children and adults

As a grammer school religious education teacher, I was first introduced to this unique "children's" bible when we asked the children to bring their bibles to class. It was so nice to see that parents had recorded in full detail (as the plate sheet provides) the gift giver and the occassion of the gift; the baptismal records; the First Holy Communion; with places also for Confirmation; Marriage and Holy Orders.

It not only is a gift of inspiration and faith but an heirloom that will be treasured for a lifetime.

My sister brought this bible for her 12 year old daughter and she adores it. I have looked throught it and think its just marvellous. Great overall bible with great pictures of quotes of the words of Jesus. The Old and New testament is clearly written and make as simply as possible for all to understand.
It is a children's bible, but I must say I think adults would just love it too. Great bible (...)

Precious Moments Bible for Children with the translation in Today's English Version by the American Bible Society is to me the best translation for beginners, child or adult.

This gift edition is perfect for gift giving and [it can also be engraved with the child's name]....

I absolutely love this coloring book. The activities are great for little ones and the pictures are so cute. Color them and put them on your fridge whether they are colored by a child or an adult.

My child LOVES this coloring book. Her nursery was decorated in Precious Moments from infancy and now that she is old enough to appreciate the delicate shapes and colors of the endearing Precious Moments characters, she finds herself immersed in this great BIG coloring book. Filled with all the sweet images of the loving set of girls, boys and pets, this book should charm any youngster who loves a box of crayons!

Este libro es muy lindo, pero sobre todo la enseñanza en la fe que se le puede dar a los hijos, tiene un lenguaje muy facil para ellos, y aun para los que no pueden leer si alguien mas se los lee ellos se pueden inmaginas junto con las hermosas imagenes a todo color que el libro presenta.

Recomiendo a todos los padres este libro mi hija lo tiene en ingles y lo buscaba en espanol para mi sobrina quien vive en mexico. Es importante como padre el fomentar la palabra de Dios a nuestros hijos y este libro es una gran herramienta. Un excelente libro de historias de la biblia. Dios los bendiga en el Nombre de Jesucristo.

It is a well illustrated and informative book of Precious Moments. You won't go wrong on buying this one. Specially if you are starting to get into Precious Moments figurines.
