Coins Books

I read this book along with two other of Garrett's and beleive that they are nothing but a bloated advertisement and self-promotion of their detectors. What a great deal for them! The reader is paying to read their advertisements. Recommend you remove this from your book listing as it is a scam.

THEY FALSELY STATE THAT THE BOOK CONTAINS "Every national note issued from 1861 to present...", the official 2006 edition only goes to notes series of 1995!!! I collect the newer series,mostly those after the 1995 series and thought this, 2006 thirty-eighth edition of the book might add adddition information...not!! My 2006 edition has a nifty New fifty note on the cover, not a twenty. Look inside the book and see if there is any information about these and you FIND NOTHING !!!!!!!!

My own fault, I guess. I saw the title, and missed the little "2x6". Of course, there's no picture. What you get is 3 little plastic frames that hold 5 quarters each. The 2 x 6 refers to 2 inches by 6 inches long. Might be nice if you are collecting New England state quarters only, but a far cry from 50 states.
It's junk, the name is misleading, and the lack of a picture is probably no accident.

These worthless items will only hold 44 or 45 dimes instead of a standard roll of 50. This makes the item 100% worthless. The dollar size holders will not fit a $1 coin. They will not even hold 1 single coin because they are tooo narrow. All these US Mint tubes are WORTHLESS. I have returned them all. They are absolutely worthless.

Not recommended... The book's holes are so small they do not allow easy insertion of coins. One user of this book has even suggested using a hammer! One third of the Lincoln Cents covered by this album are proofs (Those minted in San Francisco.) Proof coins are especially susceptible to getting scratched or marred in the process of inserting them in this book.

Having worked for many years in the antiquarian book business, I often came across pieces in their 1st and unexpurgated editions. I am an avid and voracious reader and have particular interest in ancient histories and cultures. I originally read the first edition of this book 30 years ago, or rather I should say STARTED this book 30 years ago. It took me fully 6 years to digest as I researched much of the authors data on my own. Whether you are a person that agrees or disagrees with Waddell's hypothesis and conclusions, it is irrefutable that his data and research was remarkable especially considering the era and state of technology during the time of writing. I highly recommend this piece whether your interests are ethnobiology, numismatism, archeology, linguistics even to the arcane. I look forward to reading the new reprint with enthusiasm as I found the original most remarkable and thought provoking.

I don't know what is up with the Entrepreneur-magazine series of books, but I've read several of them now and I've yet to be impressed with any of them. The best way to describe this book...BLAND AND FULL OF FLUFF. Most of them are apparently written by people who have NO real-world business experience. They are not recommended.
