Coins Books

I enjoyed reading this book just as much as my 8 grade daughter. It was recommended to us by a 14 year old boy, who enjoyed it just as much. There is adventure, romance, intrigue, self sacrifice and a realistic story. Feasible based on true events. I especially enjoyed the parts about John Bunyan, and the scenes on and about London Bridge. It's satisfying to see the scoundrels get their "come up 'ence".

For those who wish to know that FDR sacrificed Pearl Harbor and the Philippines. Credible analysis.

The book contains historical information about each of our 50 States that is just enough for the attention span of children. The fun is collecting the quarters that are minted for each state (the book tells you when each state's will be minted) to put into the outside cover's plastic coin slots. This is a great birthday gift - - you can put a few quarters in the slots to get the kids started on their collection (the last quarters won't be minted until 2008.) This book was a better value than some others that I found; some of the more expensive books or collecting sets had too much extra stuff or too much info to hold a child's attention. I was looking for something specifically for the State Quarters without getting into coin collecting in general, and this fit the bill.

It was exciting as the mystery of layers unfold. It is a must read book for anyone who loves mystery and science fiction. Each chapter adds a clue to what is taking crew's lives as the phenomenon moves about in the ocean.

The bonus book, The Cresent Coin, is also well written in a very different style and equally exciting. It was hard to put the book down. I highly recommend this book for readers of all ages.

A super new 224 reference book on the popular collectible. Contains many large sharp black and white detailed photos and some very nice full color pictures. There's a wealth of interesting and useful info in the book, covering from basic data to dream layouts, track planning, track, electrical wiring, running two trains, scenery, building and structures, action accessories, steam and diesel locomotives, freight and passenger cars, operations, to a complete glossary and sources of supply. The train enthusiast will certainly find this to be an enjoyable and useful reference source. Add it to your library.
